Navigate + Connect + Act

Supporting NHS organisations, local authorities, integrated care partnerships and communities to tackle complex challenges that no single organisation can solve alone. We start with people and place, build the trust and shared story that change depends on, and turn ambition into practical action across organisations and with the communities they serve.

How Daymark can help

Daymark Consulting works with people, organisations and partnerships facing complex challenges - understanding what is happening, building the relationships and shared purpose needed for change, and turning collective ambition into action.

  • Understand the conditions for change: Map the relationships, assets, power and barriers shaping a challenge, and where progress is possible.

  • Align people and organisations: Move from coordination to genuine collaboration, with shared purpose, priorities and relationships.

  • Facilitate leadership and collective action: Create space for difficult conversations, challenge assumptions, and help leaders navigate complexity and power.

  • Understand people, tell the story, bring people with you: Build the shared story, and the trusted relationships, that help staff, partners and communities get behind change.

  • Turn strategy into action: Design the governance, roles and ways of working that turn agreement into delivery.

  • Convene across boundaries: Bring together people and organisations who rarely sit in the same room, to find common ground and shared opportunities.

How we engage

  • Finding your bearings: For when a partnership has stalled, is newly formed, or isn’t sure what’s getting in the way.

  • Building shared purpose: For when partners are coordinating but not yet collaborating.

  • Designing for delivery: For when a partnership knows what it wants but the structures aren’t helping.

  • Ongoing support: For chairs and senior leaders who want a consistent thinking partner.

How we work

Our work follows a continuous cycle: what we embed shapes what we listen for next.

Who we are

Daymark Consulting was founded by Jeff Chinnock, who has spent his career working with organisations, communities and partnerships to tackle complex social challenges. Across international development, regional government and 17 years in the NHS, the common thread has been helping people and organisations work across boundaries, building the trust and shared purpose that turns good intentions into practical change.Enabling partnerships to deliver: At the Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, Jeff developed the organisation’s first health inequalities strategy and led a partnerships portfolio spanning neighbourhood health, health inequalities and community partnership. Where the work was independently evaluated, the results were striking: emergency attendances down by up to 71%, readmissions down by 41%, and a validated return of £3.65 for every £1 invested. He also oversaw the Trust's inclusion portfolio and its charity. As former Co-Chair of One Eastern Devon, he helped nearly double the devolved population health funding invested through local partnerships, supporting new Health and Wellbeing Alliances in 11 communities.Communications and engagement: For many years Jeff was the Royal Devon’s director of communications and engagement, including internal communications and staff engagement for around 15,000 people. He also managed the trust’s Council of Governors and public membership, work that taught him a great deal about diplomacy and bringing very different people together. Trained in anthropology, he brings an interest in how people really live to the question of how change happens.Supporting boards and governance: At the South West Regional Development Agency he supported the chair, chief executive and board on governance and political engagement. At the Royal Devon he oversaw the company secretary function and supported the Trust Board.

Building coalitions: Jeff began his career in international advocacy. At ActionAid and Save the Children he built coalitions across NGO networks and with governments to influence the UN and multilateral institutions, and he ran Save the Children’s offices in New York and Geneva. On secondment to DFID he worked on EU policy, building coalitions of interest with other member states.

Why Daymark?

Above Froward Point, where the Dart meets the sea, stands the Daymark, built in 1864. It doesn’t steer anyone; it stays steady, so those at sea can get their bearings and chart their own course. Daymark Consulting works the same way: a fixed point of reference that helps people find their own way forward, together.

Our principles

People work together when they believe they can achieve something together that none of them could achieve alone. That is where meaningful collective action begins.
